Mission

Alliance for a healthier generation ("healthier generation") is a national public health nonprofit working at the intersection of health and education systems to advance health equity and learning in schools through evidence-based policy and practice change. Our place-based approach ensures community-led impact in areas of critical need. At the same time, our national reach allows us to scale that impact, providing tools and resources that have supported more than 57,000 school communities and reached 31 million young people since our founding in 2005.

Programs

1 program

Consulting, services, and sales:* the walking classroom: the walking classroom is healthier generation's award-winning, evidence-based curriculum education program that supports students' health and learning. The program is simple - students take a brisk walk while listening to standards-aligned, educational podcasts on a preloaded mobile audio device and supported by lesson plans, comprehensive quizzes, and supplemental activities. The walking classroom offers a school a year's worth of podcasts on english language arts, social studies, and science. Continued on schedule o. The program increases physical activity, engages different learning styles, addresses learning loss, and builds health literacy. * consulting and services: healthier generation drives strategic collaboration with multiple sectors, critical to advancing health, including k-12 education, corporate, public, and nonprofit, at national and local levels. Healthier generation's services to these various sectors include training and technical assistance, consultation, capacity building, customization of digital and resources, as well as data and reporting capabilities.
