1. In support of its goal to conduct research and education, the organization engaged experts and stakeholders in the field of cell- based therapy, including researchers from academic, research, and industry organizations, and those representing patients, to assess the current state of the field; identify barriers to the development, translation, and manufacturing of safe and effective therapies; identify strategies and policies for addressing such barriers; and develop white papers outlining actions needed to advance the field. 2. In support of its goal to conduct research and education, the organization developed briefs and other communications materials to support charitable and educational purposes of the organization.
3. In support of its goal to provide educational resources to support patients, the organization made publicly available, guides to support patient decision-making related to cell-based therapies. 4. Developed a proposal for the creation of a center for innovation in cell and gene therapy to support academic medical centers and small biotechs with early stage clinical trials, manufacturing, and navigating regulatory evaluation and approval of cell therapies.
