The advancement of community development and the advancement of environmental protection or improvement by promoting the responsible and equitable stewardship of freshwater.the organization's objectives are to promote the use of water that is socially equitable, environmentally sustainable and economically beneficial, including water use that is:(a) socially equitable in that it recognises and implements the human right to water and sanitation and helps to ensure human wellbeing and equity(b) environmentally sustainable in that it maintains or improves biodiversity, ecological and hydrological processes at the catchment level; and(c) economically beneficial in that it contributes to long-term sustainable economic growth and development and poverty alleviation for water users, local communities and society at large.
