Mission
The alliance francaise de seattle (afseattle) is a dynamic educational and cultural nonprofit 501(c)(3) incorporated in the state of washington, whose mission is to promote the french language and francophone cultures through diverse programs in the puget sound area. It offers french language classes for all ages and levels, it maintains the largest french certification center in the pacific northwest, and its cultural center proposes concerts, lectures, screenings, and workshops for a large community of francophones and francophiles.

In 2024 afseattle organized around 100 events, onsite and online. We continued our successful series: cin-salon in french, les histoires de sophie for our young readers, morning coffee in french, happy hours in french, and salon littraire. We also continued our partnerships with local organizations such as siff, northwest film forum, and university of washington. We organized the night of ideas at town hall, a fundraising gala and a european holiday market.
