The Senior-to-Senior program consists of dogs considered non-adoptable due to age or chronic medical conditions. These dogs are placed with permanent senior fosters. AHDRO underwrites all the expenses for these dogs for the rest of their lives. As of December 31, 2024 there were 16 dogs in the program.
AHDRO has a community service program that provides stress relief for front-line medical workers. The workers interact with the dogs for a brief respite from their duties. These services are provided to the workers at no charge. In 2024 there were no calls for the service.
