Wesley community center, inc. Of amarillo shall be a neighborhood center where all person's positive self worth can be realized, seeking always to maximize both individual potential and community empowerment. Wesley community center shall respond to the expressed needs through a program of educational, and spiritual activities for children, youth and adults of all races and faiths. Programs
3 programs
Modeling program for children of working parents, primarily low income families or at-risk youth, serving an average of 19 children per day. For the current year approximately 73 registered unduplicated youth served with 54 being classified as extremely low income, 11 as low income, 3 moderate.
Senior citizens program senior care including meals, crafts and other activity programs for seniors 55 years and older serving 40-48 participants on average per day. For the current year approximately 88 registered unduplicated seniors were servced with 70 classified as extremely low income, 8 low income, 6 moderate income, and 5 above moderate income.
Various other programs including modeling program for students to promote self-esteem, transportation of children after school, english as second language program, social services, wrestling activities for youth, college scholarships for students, etc. Approximately 435 to 500 persons served during the year in these various programs.
