Certification - aacvpr sponsors a cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation program certification process, the only peerreviewed accreditation process designed to review individual facilities for adherence to standards and guidelines developed and published by the aacvpr and other professional societies. In addition, through aacvpr individual professionals can earn the only comprehensive professional certification in cardiac rehabilitation: the certified cardiac rehabilitation professional (ccrp), as well as a pulmonary rehabilitation certificate through a joint program developed in conjunction with the american association for respiratory care.
Registries - aacvpr maintains outpatient cardiac rehabilitation (cr) and outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation (pr) registries allowing users to track patient outcomes and program performance while building an evidence base for the effectiveness of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. Through instant access to program and patient data reports, users are able to benchmark results against national averages, influence healthcare policy makers to utilize cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, improve coverage and reimbursement rates for their programs, enhance documentation for administrators and referring physicians, and discover how to implement quality improvement projects based on real data.
Journal - aacvpr's bimonthly journal of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and prevention (jcrp) was the first, and remains the only, professional journal dedicated to improving multidisciplinary clinical practice and expanding research evidence specific to both cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation. This includes exercise testing and prescription, behavioral medicine, and cardiopulmonary risk factor management. In 2007, jcrp expanded its scope to include primary prevention of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases. Jcrp publishes scientific and clinical peer reviewed original investigations, reviews, and brief or case reports focused on the causes, prevention, and treatment of individuals with cardiovascular or pulmonary diseases in both a print and online only format. Editorial features include editorials, invited commentaries, literature updates, and clinically relevant topical updates.
Education - acvpr offers various continuing education opportunities throughout the year to provide cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation professionals and their programs with the resources needed to provide the highest quality of patient care.
Advocacy - aacvpr is a leading advocate for the practice of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, and has a long history of challenging legislation and regulation that negatively impacts the care of patients. Our advocacy efforts are varied to ensure that the interests of our members are made known to a wide array of decision makers. Aacvpr's day on the hill brings members together in washington, d.c. To meet with elected officials. Day on the hill gives aacvpr members an opportunity to meet with their legislators and legislative staffs as constituents, as voters and healthcare professionals to advocate for their profession.
