The primary purpose of the organization is to support nursing needs in treating patients in a manner consistent with quality health care; to provide an information network for nurses in the managed health care industry; to act as a liaison between nurses, physicians and hospitals with other health care professionals, as well as, academia government, the pharmaeutical industry, insurance carriers, and management personnel participating in managed health care; and to enhance societal awareness of the cost/benefit advantages of appropriate medical care services in a managed health care system.
