The majority of aanp's grants are used to fund research and education. During 2024, aanp offered more than 350 continuing education activities and developed and distributed important health care resource tools for both providers and their patients. There were 514,370 continuing education certificates issued to nps between the ce center and aanp conferences, for a total of 724,501.20 contact hours of ce and 307,190.10 pharmacology credit earned for the year.

Aanp's legislative team represents nurse practitioners and their patients on critical issues related to licensure, access to care, patient safety, health care reform, reimbursements, and other concerns at all policy levels. In addition to advocating on issues that impact np's and their patients, aanp represents nps on national committees in health organizations.
