To maintain cctc/cptc/cctn/ctp status, individuals must accumulate 60 continuing education points for transplant certification within a three-year period. The ctfc individuals requirement structure increases to 60 by 2027. The focus of this process is to foster education and a standard of competency within the transplant profession.

Abtc has developed self-assessment exams that can help candidates prepare for the cctc, cptc, cctn and ctp exams. Sae's are 50 to 75 questions long and follow the same examination specifications as the actual certification examination.
