American college of emergency physicians promotes the highest quality of emergency care and is the leading advocate for emergency physicians, their patients, and the public.

Develop clinical policies; monitor practice and reimbursement environments; work with academic emergency medicine to enhance residency training; monitor, analyze and support ems and disaster preparedness systems in the us; work with ama and others in organized medicine to ensure emergency physicians have the most current information with which to provide emergency care to patients.

Maintain membership database; provide internal communications with members to ensure members are knowledgeable about issues important to emergency medicine; support research; provide information to the general public about emergency medicine; and support specialized areas of interest in emergency medicine.
