In Depth Review seminar: an educational program for the College members on new and problematic topics in general surgery.

ACOS News: monthly newsletter distributed to all members and containing monthly updates on managed competition, graduate medical education, Medicare fee schedules, healthcare reform, and other issues of concern to membership.

Maintained web-site that improves communications with members and the public.

Provided Site Visit Manual and Workbook for Osteopathic Surgical Residency Training Programs to programs and site inspectors to facilitate the periodic evaluation of osteopathic surgery resident training programs for accreditation and qualification to participate in government funded programs. Standards Accreditation are reviewed periodically at least every four years and the Site Visit Manual is changed as needed to keep abreast of all changes in the standards and assist programs in maintaining compliance with the basic standards.

Provided an electronic data system for use by surgical residents for the purpose of maintaining a record of their surgical procedures. The system simplifies the resident reporting process and allows for greater analyses of residency training programs by the ACOS Residency Evaluation and Standards Committee.Provided members with access to a database that aids physicians in coding surgical procedures for billing third-party payors.
