Acbl educational foundation supports multiple national youth and collegiate bridge tournaments across north america. Annually, the foundation supports the acbl collegiate bowl by providing full and partial stipends for college students to compete in an intercollegiate atmosphere. In 2024, the foundation supported the world youth transformational bridge championships, which is for junior players under 31 competing in world championships while developing more advanced players into the game's biggest future advocates. Annually, the foundation provides nabc (north american bridge championships) youth stipends to junior bridge players competing in national tournaments.
Acbl educational foundation partners with jumpstart bridge, a proven, effective educational program that provides teacher training, instructional tools, and both practical and financial support for implementing the card game bridge as an enrichment, afterschool, or club activity for k12 students. This program is designed to serve as a continuing education opportunity for educators, while delivering real-world benefits in student learning, critical thinking, and social development. Jumpstart bridge is supported with funds and supplies from the acbl educational foundation. (continued on schedule o)our flagship program for 2024 was jump start bridge. This program, led by patty tucker, introduced bridge to over 12,000 kids, a huge increase over previous years' youth programs. With the help of patty, the acbl, and baron barclay, we are building a new generation of players. This program is thriving and there is much more to come in 2025!
Bridgewhiz is an exciting, digital initiative designed to teach young people (grades 4-12) the essentials of the fascinating game of bridge whose benefits, intellectual stimulation, and adventure will last a lifetime. Bridgewhiz is free to all students with each graduate receiving a free, one-year junior membership in the american contract bridge league (acbl). Students are allowed to graduate into more advanced classes throughout their middle and high school years.
