To aid in the establishment of fair, adequate, and healthy working conditions. To secure improvements of wages, hours, and other economic advantages that benefit the membership of the local. To maintain proper tours without favoritism or nepotism. To ensure that management adheres to the citywide and collective union bargaining agreements. To inform the general membership of any changes in procedures or personnel affecting the local.

To provide training, workshops, and seminars for employees, members, and local officers, which will allow the membership to safeguard, advance, and promote the principles of collective bargaining and the legitimate rights of workers to secure all benefits, whether through political influence, education, or community activism. To commit to the afscme goals of recruiting an army of activists that will collaborate with members and non-members of our local to mobilize them to win fair pay and an elite quality of public service. To create an organizing culture through a foundation of transparency and structure of accountability, such as committee chairs or stewards that will track and review our performance. To facilitate new employee outreach programs, membership drives and blitzes around contract campaigns.
