The purpose of this organization shall be: to bring associations of teachers into relations of mutual assistance and cooperation. to obtain for the the rights they are entitled. to raise the standards of the teaching profession by securing the conditions essential to the best professional service. to promote such democratization of the schools as will enable them to better equip their pupils to take their place in the industrial, social, and political life of the community. to promote the welfare of the childhood of the nation by providing progressively better education opportunity for all. to eliminate discrimination in education in all its forms.
