The purpose of this organization shall be: to promote the interests of patients who are served by the membership; to advance the economic, social, and political well-being of the membership; to promote the highest professional and ethical standards of the medical profession; to encourage mutual understanding and cooperation among the membership; to promote the effectiveness and quality of the institutions in which our members work; to promote democracy, equality, and trade unionism in the society at large.
