Chf provides veterinarians, researchers, and dog owners with information about the latest advancements in canine health. In 2024, chf hosted 4 webinars, reaching 500+ attendees through collaborations with dvm360 and the akc canine college, covering topics like heart health, biometrics of active agility dogs, and infectious disease management. Chf staff also attended 10+ dog shows, veterinary conferences, and breed club events, engaging thousands on chf's research and resources. By underpinning the dissemination of findings through peer-reviewed journals, webinars, and public outreach, chf ensures scientific discoveries lead to better veterinary practices and healthier dogs. Through education and awareness, chf supports the veterinary community and dog owners to make informed decisions, improving canine health worldwide.
Chf invests in specialized veterinary training to advance canine health. In 2024, chf launched its first support of a canine sports medicine & rehabilitation residency program, funding the university of pennsylvania and colorado state university to train specialists in treating injuries in working and athletic dogs. Chf also supports small animal reproduction training through a theriogenology residency at the ohio state university. Additionally, the clinician-scientist fellowship program funded four fellows researching cancer treatments, chronic enteropathy, placental dysfunction, and urinary tract infections at leading u.s. Veterinary institutions. These programs, supported by donors and partners, ensure veterinary medicine continues moving forward, providing better diagnostics, treatments, and care for dogs now and in the future.
