American Legion

Assisted in aiding the hospitalization, disabled and needy war veterans and thir dependents, including the widows and orphans of deceased members. Provided color guards at funerals of veterans and memorial services, visited sick or hospitalized members, veterans and their families, provided equipment, services, entertainment and support to patients in verterans homes and veterans hospitals.

Provided programs for children and youth members and those in the community, including childrens holiday and patriotic day parties, school americanism awards and scholarships sponsoring athletic teams, boy and girl scouts, sea cadets, 4-h groups, boys and girls hospitals and child welfare programs.
