American Legion Auxiliary

The Departments activities are based on its obligation to assist veterans. The Auxiliary supports the initiation, sponsorship and develpmnent of programs and services that enhance the lives of veterans, active members of the military and their families.

VA and R activities consist of volunteering at VA hospitals throughout and year-round support to veterans, active members of the military and their families. These activities also help future members by offering scholarship to nursing candidates.

Buckeye Messenger is a quarterly newsletter that is produced by the Department of Ohio and sent to all Units and their members to keep them updated as to events and happenings at the Department. In addition, the Department regularly produces mailers and other notices that it sends to members by mail as well as electronically.

Department members attended regular meetings at their units. Many members attend conferences and meetings at the District and State level to plan activities for the membership. Each year, the Department holds leadership training, a mid-Winter Conference and holds its annual convention each summer.
