Health equity and diversity grants and programs - in building healthcare access and medical care for minority and disenfranchised populations, amaf awards grants and provides programming with collaborative partners and providers. The amaf lgbtq+ fellowship program awarded grants to 4 university sites to developed curriculum and design programming for training physicans in lgbtq+ healthcare. Amaf awarded multiple grants to partners working in healthcare equity, countering disparties in chronic disease, including cardiovascular disease and hypertension.

Support for physicians. Physicians disaster recovery fund - helps physician practices recover from natural disasters. In fy23 through fy24 the foundation supported disaster recovery efforts from wildfires and hurricane throughout the u.s. The excellence in medicine awards - the ama foundation publicly recognizes and provides awards to altruistic physicians. These awards are designed to celebrate their accomplishments and further inspire and encourage volunteerism in the medical profession while improving the health of underserved communities.
