Beginning fiscal year 2019, the institute went on hiatus to undergo a strategic planning process.

Undergraduate student theatrical plays, productions, and activities included 18 performances of 4 productions, reaching an audience of 5,558 across two campus venues. This also encompassed the incremental teaching expenses for academic theater courses within harvard university's faculty of arts and sciences. Educational and community engagement programs saw widespread participation across various initiatives. Notably, the dialogue of civilizations program involved 25 participants, including 10 at the harvard ed portal, fostering meaningful discussions. Community workshops for gatsby engaged 40 participants at locations including malden, cambridge, and the east boston library, with an additional workshop held at the harvard ed portal. The real women have curves workshops drew 19 participants for a session at the harvard ed portal. During the acom conference week, 19 participants engaged in 13 learning sessions. The learning lab also witnessed active participation from 199 students across four productions, with a total of four workshops. Additionally, the learning lab plc (professional learning community) successfully engaged 11 teachers across four collaborative sessions.
