To promote and advocate imaging and geospatial science for informed, scientifically-valid, and technologically sound observations of earth conditions and trends that lead to improved and effective decision-making.

Certifications: asprs offers an accredited professional certification program for photogrammetrists, mapping scientists, and technologists in remote sensing, gis/lis, and lidar. Asprs develops and maintains standards and best practices for mapping and other geospatial products and services. Asprs provides online webinars for the benefit of members and the general public. Asprs is represented on committees of other professional associations, trade associations, and government agencies to support mutual scientific and educational goals.
Workshops: asprs conducts, sponsors, and supports local, regional, national, and international meetings, workshops, and technical exchanges to facilitate the scientific and educational work of the members of the society.
