To advance the knowledge and practice of engineering in the public interest. To provide member societies with reliable information that affects the engineering profession. To provide a forum for engineering societies to exchange views on common interest. Conduct engineering programs and activities that member organizations individually could not accomplish that enhance and serve the public interest.

Awards & Younger Member Group Activities: The Illinois Section provides scholarships, assistance and a variety of activities to students in engineering programs at the universities and local student chapters. The awards program honors the achievements and increase public awareness in the civil engineering profession. The Minority Affairs Committee raise scholarship funds to allow disadvantage high school students to attend an introduction to Engineering Programs hosted at the University of Notre Dame.
