Landscape architecture magazine serves as the publication of record. Landscape architecture magazine serves as asla's flagship publication, delivering timely research, best practices, and compelling stories to thousands of readers each month. In 2024, the magazine earned two azbee awards for excellence in art direction and design and was recognized as a finalist for the prestigious jesse h. Neal awards. These external awards underscore the respect the magazine has as a leader in professional publishing. The magazine's coverage of climate action, design innovation, and the achievements of landscape architects worldwide not only supports the professional growth of members but also elevates public understanding of the field. Through its award-winning content, landscape architecture magazine advances the profession, amplifies the voices of practitioners, and demonstrates the far-reaching impact of landscape architecture on society and the environment.
The asla conference on landscape architecture is the profession's premier event each year. In 2024, the conference on landscape architecture brought together more than 6,500 professionals, students, and exhibitors to celebrate asla's 125th anniversary in washington, d.c. The conference delivered more than 100 education sessions, along with hands-on workshops, and field tours of landmark projects. The conference provides attendees with practical knowledge, inspiration, and career-enhancing connections. The event's expansive expo featured more than 300 exhibitors, while popular learning labs and the sketch lounge offered opportunities to explore new tools and techniques. Asla reinforced its commitment to sustainability by achieving a 1,600% increase in train travel over the previous year, donating 30,000 pounds of expo materials to the local community, and funding more than 3,500 carbon offsets. Through these experiences and initiatives, the conference advanced professional excellence, fostered collaboration, and demonstrated the positive impact of landscape architecture on communities and the environment.
