Sokol Detroit provides many activities that promote family values for our membership, as well as for the general public. The purpose of these events are to socialize and learn about the history of our organizations, as well as to participate in physical activities. We publish a monthly newsletter, to plan our future events and programs, and compile relevant and historical information. This is distributed to the membership as well as any other interested general public.
Physical fitness classes are available for ages 5 years old through 80+years. Classes are open to members and their children, and the public. They consist of gymnastic instruction, tumbling, aerobics, and synchronized movements. There are gymnastic displays, and exhibitions, and competitions. Our participants compete several times a year either locally, nationally, or internationally. The teen club hosts many social events throughout the year. The Board of Directors sponsor many family oriented events such as the camp picnic, the haunted walk and the holiday party.
