Mission
American training, inc. Provides housing, employability development, relevant personal and vocational counseling, vocational skills development and training and other related services and support to the developmentally disabled, mentally ill, physically handicapped and economically disadvantaged individuals.
Programs
5 programs
Day programs provide individuals with vocational and supported employment services, both community based and in a work setting. The program provides job placement, job site training and on-going monitoring and follow-up. Integrated work crews, employer based job sites, volunteer opportunities and individual placement are sought and organized to expose individuals to a variety of employment choices and skills. It provides integration of individuals within their communities to attain meaningful community connections. Provides day habilitation programs which focus on developmental skills such as pt, ot, nursing & assistive technology. In fy 2024 500 individuals were served.
Vanway transports individuals with developmental disabilities to and from their homes and day programs. Vanway transports individuals on 18 routes funded through a regional transportation authority. In fy 2024, vanway transported 102 individuals throughout the northeast area of massachusetts.
Education & work readiness services adults and at risk youth. Services include literacy programs, and young parent programs.
Employment program-in fy 2024 96 individuals were paid an hourly rate for work opportunities.
Student training & support services economically disadvantaged adults. Courses offered include electronic assembly, office/computer, medical assisting, medical billing-coding, ged prep and esl prep. Vocational counseling and job placement complement these programs for wia/dta participants as well as dislocated workers. In fy 2024 179 students were served.
