Mission

The Americas Foundation founded in 1989 is dedicated to promoting binational community development at the US Mexico border and giving direct aid to disadvantaged children. Our principal projects are the founding building and sustaining of the La Esperanza schools of Tijuana; the Jardin de Nios La Esperanza kindergarten and Colegio La Esperanza elementary school which offer full Arts program combined with academics. The plan of the La Esperanza schools is to provide poor children with the opportunity to develop their different talents and give them an example of a positive community service project so that in thirty years they will create effective and beautiful social institutions that are needed; hospitals museums universities schools or parks and likewise dedicate themselves to activities constructive to their communities.

The Americas Foundation funded and coordinated the "More Art = Less Violence free arts instrumental music guitar jazz dance youth orchestra and volleyball programs for teens ages 12 to 17 years old. The Foundation purchased or acquired additional instruments for the youth orchestra promoted and provided instruction choreography costumes scenery equipment and classrooms for the Saturday and after school program that served 205 adolescents living in an underserved area. A performance concert involving all the More Art students was also along with with participation community arts festivals.

The Americas Foundation sponsored volunteer work that included creation of large permanent international community mosaics arts projects painting maintenance construction creating organic vegetable gardens and more for kindergarten and elementary schools.

Sponsorship of two international cultural festivals and the creation of two full length childrens ballets. The Spring festival highlighted the cuisine music arts and cultures of Suth America while the autumnn festival presented the Arts music cuisine and dance from different regions of Meixico. Each festival involved the participation of over 245 children and 495 adults.
