Miscellaneous project grants and program costs

Kenya - community initiatives for rural development (ciford):$54,080 was granted to support programs for young women: leadership seminar, workshops for girls' health, self-confidence and pregnancy avoidance. In 2024, 523 girls and boys graduated during august from ciford seminars for youth which included girls leadership, anti-fgm for girls, and boys for change. 167 boys attended the boys for change program to deter male violence against women and to encourage the boys to stay in school.

Zimbabwe - kuda vana children's home, mutare:$32,062 granted to kuda vana children's home/orphanage during 2024. Support for the home of 50 on-campus orphans, plus 20 older children in other programs. The main campus has five homes and an elementary school for about 50 children. The older children live on a second kvp campus (buhera campus near harare) so that they can attend high schools. There are active adoption and fostering programs placing children with zimbabwean families.

Kenya - grow biointensive agriculture kenya (g-biack):$23,400 granted in total: $3,000 for building paint, $3,000 for ishaka garden program, $3,000 for flood damage repairs, $1,200 for moses teacher salary for one year, $2,200 gep yep program, $11,000 seed factory construction.

Uganda - universal love alliance (ula):$16,945 granted for support of their overhead. Ula provides life-saving support for battered women, people with hiv+ status, and lgbtiq persons who are victims of the ugandan anti-homosexuality bill.two programs we promoted at ula:1) income generation for hiv+ women, which includes agriculture and breeding of piglets. With their income, the women are able to provide school fees for their children, build small homes, and others have put solar panels on their existing homes. Some of the groups have created group savings accounts which provide small loans to the members.2) a small clinic for hiv/aids counseling, confidential testing and treatment; sti counseling, testing and treatment; provision of nutritious food to poor and hungry hiv-positive patients; and other health-related services.

Democratic republic of the congo:$10,000 granted for support of refugee camp agriculture and farming program led by rebuilders inc. (les rebatisseurs).

Mexico - huichol sierra:building the structure for the los hermitanos trade school.

India - buddha's smile school (bss), varanasi:bussha's smile school is a day care-5th grade school for 221 poor children. $8,837 was granted to provide support toward salaries, utilities, and medical care.

South africa - lambano sanctuary, johannesburg:$5,500 granted to this hospice for the support of children with hiv+ status.

Kenya - visionary women's centre:visionay women's centre in kenya has started an anti-rape and anti-bullying program for boys and girls. The program is named "say no and be counted and is run by kenyan social workers and a martial arts teacher. This year they have led four six-week long workshops, reaching 235 teen girls and boys. Each workship covers topics such as effective communication skills and self-defense. They also talk about the emotional and physical consequences of rape and the role of the family, friends, teachers and communnity in rape prevention.
