Mission
The Anchorage Education Association (Association) is operated for the purpose of promoting the education and well being of school children, protecting and promoting the welfare and economic viability of the teachers in their district, and providing a unified voice with which teachers may express their opinions before the Board of Education and other legal authorities.The objectives and purposes of the Association are to establish and further, through united effort, the highest possible educational opportunity for Anchorages children; to give careful consideration to professional education problems and policies; to promote the enactment of laws for the protection and progress of education in Anchorage; and to accomplish these end objectives through such lawful means, including the publication of periodicals or other media, as may be available to the Association; to represent teachers in collective bargaining; and to maintain and enforce the negotiated agreement.
