Mission

Making good men better men. The Masons are a group of men that work together to make each other better, doing this through ritual work, study and making a difference in our communities. We are very pro-education, in fact, the Masons were instrumental in setting up schools in the colonies. We assist the Grand Lodge (Head Lodge of each state) in offering their programs on scholarships, vocaional school grants. Locally, we offer scholarships to graduating LaPlata seniors. We have been involved with BBBS of Southwest Colorado, with members mentoring students. We are a 4-H sponsor of their catch-it program for 4-H members. We get involved with other Masonic Family groups like the Shriners, who spend about 2 million a day through a network of hospitals. There are speech programs for the kids, as well as an eye foundation.
