Andrew County Ministries

Andrew County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program(RSVP): Andrew County Ministries was awarded a CNCS(aka Americorps Senior RSVP) grant that partially funds the budget needed to operate the Andrew County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program(RSVP). Andrew County Ministries serves as the sponsoring agency for RSVP. In addition to facilitating senior volunteer placements at Andrew County volunteer stations,the RSVP office arranges medical transportation for seniors who have no other means of transportation, prepare tax returns for seniors and low income households, and provide Medicare Part D enrollment assistance. In the most recent progress report to AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP(i.e. covering the time period April 1, 2023 -March 31, 2024) 130 distinct volunteers age 55 or older were spread across ten volunteer stations and committed a total of 11,211 volunteer hours.

Andrew County Backpack Buddies Program:Andrew County Ministries is responsible for managing all aspects of the Andrew County Backpack Buddies program that provides supplemental weekend, kid-friendly foods to children receiving free and reduced-price school lunches during the academic year. During this tax filing year, the Andrew County Backpack Buddies program served 122 children.
