Mission

The mission of Angel of God Resource is to provide human services via grant writing assistance, training, and educational programs to empower through education. We provide supportive services designed to enhance the physical, mental, spiritual, nutritional, social and educational well-being of the community residents, families and agencies.

Programs

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (formerly Food Stamps) helps low-income people and families buy the food they need for good health. Benefits are provided on the Illinois Link Card - an electronic card that is accepted at most grocery stores. The program is managed by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) of the United States Department of Agriculture. The Department of Human Services administers the program in Illinois.

The Job Training and Economic Development (JTED) program is a grant-funded initiative that provides occupational training and support services to help individuals gain employment and meet the skill needs of target industries. It aims to address barriers to work for adults and youth by offering career development opportunities, such as work-based learning and skill-building, and by creating partnerships between employers and training providers. These programs can also offer flexible funding to help participants overcome barriers to employment, like costs for basic needs.

The Violence Prevention Education program is designed to teach individuals, particularly students, the knowledge and skills to prevent violence, and provides information about violence, challenges negative attitudes towards it, and develops interpersonal skills like emotional control, conflict resolution, and empathy. The program is taught in a variety of methods, including classroom lessons,role-playing, group discussions, and interactive activities, and has age-appropriate curricula that addresses issues like bullying, healthy relationships, and sexual abuse.
