Mission
ACTS mission is to improve the quality of life for all Anne Arundel County residents. We accomplish this mission by listening to community voices, developing local leadership, researching the problems, and working to implement solutions that reduce the impact of economic, social, and racial injustice.

ACt worked with its sister organizations in Maryland to pass state-wide legislation to address additional barriers to affordable and stable housing. ACT educated its members on upcoming pending legislation and how to participate in the legislative process and engage with their elected officials. ACT helped to pass two bills that will incentivize the creation of more affordable housing across the state and will give renters more stability in their homes.
ACT invests in developing local community leaders by providing training opportunities for new and emerging leaders to learn the skills required to make change in their communities. In 2024, ACT trained over 100 everyday people in the skills of: community listening, researching systemic issues, and engaging with local and state decision makers to implement solutions.
