The sole objective and purpose of aow ambulance service inc is to provide pre-hospital emergency care and ambulance service to all people within the service territory of the organization. The service territory is the altona fire protection district and the oneida-wataga fire protection district, in knox county, illinois. The service territory contains approximately 117 square miles and is rural in character and is not otherwise served by ambulance or emergency care service. Aow ambulance service inc provides intermediate and basic life support along with non-emergency transports to any and all persons, whether residents or not, within its service territory. Aow ambulance service inc provides ambulances staffed on a 24-hour a day, 7 days a week basis. The board of directors are volunteers and are not compensated as such.
