Therapeutic horse program: this is a very important help with handicapped, troubled, and poor children. The cost is high for horses, grain, vet bills, electric for irrigation, fuel to haul hay, etc. We sell horse rides tickets, but give free rides to those who don't have money. We sell candy, pop, etc. Those who have no money receive free goodies. Everyone gets a free t-shirt and we sell other shirts, hats, etc., used for advertising and promoting the camp as well as for identification of campers. This is all part of our services to the young people and part of our exempt operations. Any money that comes in, goes back into the camp operating expenses so more can come.

Buildings and equipment maintenance: we have a number of buildings and equipment that require constant repairs and maintenance. In july of 2021 we had a 100 year flood that destroyed a number of our buildings. Since we are located in a valley with a stream in it, we cannot purchase flood insurance. This resulted in cancellation of camp weeks as well as extensive damage we are still recovering from and rebuilding.
