Assisting persons with developmental disabilities in achieving independence.

Developmental child care - the muriel humphrey center in woodbridge, virginia, and the robert day center in manassas, virginia offer warm nurturing developmental child care services for children with disabilities from 6 months to 18 years of age. The centers are open weekdays from early morning to evenings and they specialize in serving those with complex medical and behavioral needs.

Transportation program - a specialized transportation system of 50 vehicles provide transportation for individuals with disabilities participating in the agency's program.

Therapeutic services - agency offers physical and speech therapy services to persons with developmental disabilities.

Recreation - the recreation department provides activities and events for the arc's clients and their families. Dances, bowling, movies, field trips, and other activities which allow our individuals with disabilities to gather. The recreation department provides them with experiences and relationships that may be difficult to obtain outside of the program.

The family services department supports individuals with disabilities and their families. Support includes educational workshops, support groups, respite care, the circle of support conference, information, and referrals.
