Mission
The arc south bay is a non-profit 501(c)(3) social service agency providing work training, adult day care, and recreational programs and services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the south bay area of los angeles county since 1959.
Programs

Southwest industries is a work activity program funded through the department of rehabilitation and contracts with local businesses. Adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities receive instruction in performing packaging and assembly work for community businesses and are paid based on the minimum wage.
Adult development center-hermosa beach - funded by regional centers. This is a center based program focused on independent living skills training is conducted at the hermosa beach community center untilizing their gymnasium and our classrooms. Field trips and volunteer opportunities are available.
Community employment services - funded by regional centers. This program places clients in supported work and provides job coaching for them to be successful in maintaining their jobs. The job coaching hours, for which the organization receives reimbursment, steadily decreases as the client becomes more independent, i.e., from 120 hours per month down to 10 hours per month for maintenance.
