Mission
Promote mental wellness by creating space for young people to learn and connect through art and media. We work in colleges and universities throughout the U.S. and Canada, leveraging the arts to eliminate the stigma around mental illness.

Short Film InitiativesThrough our annual production grant program and our short film competitions, we awarded 13 filmmakers a total of $81,000 in support of their work exploring mental health from a wide range of perspectives and lived experiences. Voices With Impacts themes this year were stories specific to 1) serious mental illness and 2) cliques and echo chambers. The week-long, online film festival attracted approximately 1,500 participants from around the world.
College and University WorkshopsIn 2023-24 Art With Impact ran 35 arts-based mental health workshops online and at colleges and universities throughout the United States and Canada. Each of our workshops used artistic modalities including short film, creative writing, and poetry to explore unique mental health journeys, promote mental wellness, and connect participants with concrete resources for support. In post-workshop evaluations, between 81% of participants reported an increased likelihood to seek support for their own mental health.
