Mission

The Artist Mentorship Program (AMP) is a Portland based non-profit that provides a creative space for homeless youth to build healthy relationship-centered communities through music and art activities. AMP also provides meals, social services and resource navigation for youth experiencing homelessness.

In 2024, AMP provided 17,000 meals and distributed 25,000 pounds of nutritious food through our weekly Free Food Market, supporting both AMP students and food-insecure community members. This vital program is made possible through partnerships with local restaurants, dedicated volunteers, and organizations like Urban Gleaners and Feed the Mass, ensuring consistent access to nourishing meals for those who need them most.

Expenses: $187K

In 2024, AMP hosted three live Youth Music Showcases, where young musicians shared their talents, stories, and achievements with an audience of over 100 community members. These events highlight the healing power of art and music and the profound impact of a supportive community in the lives of homeless youth. To further encourage creative expression, AMP provided select youth with their own musical instruments, ensuring they have the tools to continue their artistic journey. This year, AMP distributed: 8 Guitars, 5 Ukuleles, 2 Keyboards, 3 Amplifiers & Pedals, 2 Drum Pads & Kits. Through performance opportunities and access to instruments, AMP empowers youth to find their voice, build confidence, and connect through music.
