Hospital Equipment Lending Program (HELP): HELP loans durable medical equipment free of charge to any person needing to better their safety, well-being and mobility. HELP is seeing referrals from almost every hospital and rehab facility in the greater Denver area. They have received increased referrals from private doctors offices and from professional physical therapists and occupational therapists who pick up medical equipment for their clients. HELP participated in two community outreach programs this fiscal year including the Aging Well initiative sponsored by the City and County of Denver and the Heather Gardens annual America Recycles Day focusing on equipment donations to HELP. HELP loaned out 6,445 pieces of equipment this year to 4,353 clients.

The we-share program redistributes unsold clothing and household goods, as well as help equipment donations, to charities for the direct benefit of those in need. We donate crutches to crutches for africa, clothing to the senior resource center and the aurora welcome center, as well as to low-income seniors who are medicaid recipients at cherrelyn healthcare center. We have partnered with the women's bean project, to provide work apparel shoping experiences for participatns of their program and bedding and linens to the humane society, to name a few. In fiscal 2025, $140,408 of equipment and clothing were passed on to other nonprofit organizations for the benefit of their clients or directly to those in need. Items are valued at thrift shop value or for medical equipment, 50 percent of the original cost. The we share program is estimated to have impacted 4,945 individuals in the greater denver area.

Scholarships were awarded to 37 students in need of financial aid at community college of denver and pickens technical college. Each college financial aid office screens all applicants and refers those who meet specific requirements. The funding may be used for tuition, student fees and books

Assault survivor kits (ask) offered new clothing and toiletry bags to 1,050 victims of rape/sexual assault to colorado hospitals with sane (sexual assault nurse examiner) programs. By supplying bundles of clothing and toiletries for victims, a sense of caring and dignity is restored. The chapter currently serves denver health, st. Anthony hospital system, centura frisco and the university of colorado.

Senior Services: The Hospitality House program provides Denver area seniors with a twice monthly Bingo social event accompanied by a home-cooked meal. This year the committee added a new aspect to their program with Golden Gatherings, a series of entertainment events such as sing-alongs, a short play, and a fashion show with seniors modeling clothes from our Thrift Store. Eighty or more seniors attend these events each month, and the events are so popular that reservations have to be made to ensure that there is room for all who want to come. Hospitality House served almost 1,000 meals to area seniors this year.

The serves our seniors program provided social activities and companionship that enhanced the quality of life for 240 residents and cherrelyn healthcare center, a local medicaid nursing facility.

Aldo bears were distributed to 225 children at denver helath medical center in 2024-2025. The membership voted to discontinue aldo bears in 2025 because it duplicates the efforts of many other civic organizations that distribute thousands of stuffed animals to medical facilities in the denver area.
