TOGS FOR TOTS (1988)The Togs for Tots program provides new clothing, hygiene kits, and books to children ranging in age from newborn to five years old. The supported children are identified by community agencies and Title I school Head Start and Pre-K programs in Bexar County. In 2024-2025, 8,260 children and their families were served by Togs for Tots, and 85 member volunteers contributed 4,612 hours in support of this program. Additional support was provided by Community Volunteers.

ENHANCED LEARNING AWARDS (2014)The Enhanced Learning Awards program is a grant-like program designed to provide funds to Bexar County Title 1 elementary schools for impactful, educational enrichment opportunities for an out-of-classroom experience. Schools complete an application outlining the student educational experience, pre/post assessments to measure student learning, and are required to provide outcomes from the project.In 2024-2025, thirteen schools representing five different school districts received funds for programs that impacted 1,749 students. Eight members contributed 351 hours to this program.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (2004)The Scholarship program awards scholarships to qualified students attending colleges and universities in Bexar County. In 2024-2025, this program awarded 14 scholarships. Fourteen member volunteers contributed 247 hours in support of this program.

CAPS (CAPS ART PROMOTES SMILES) (1998)The CAPS program provides uniquely decorated ball caps to chronically ill children and adults. Knitted and crocheted hats are also made and provided to patients where needed.In 2024-2025, 2,921 patients at six hospitals/centers were provided caps. Twenty-two members contributed 4,947 hours in support of this program.

I'M IN CHARGE (1985)The Im In Charge program provides personal safety presentations for elementary school children, primarily in Title I schools. Presentations for students are provided in-person by members as requested by local school districts. The program empowers students with information and tools to make the right decisions when they are home alone, at school, on the internet or in a dangerous situation. Parent presentations are also available to these schools. Take-home booklets that reinforce the message are printed in both English and Spanish. In 2024-2025, 2,355 students were provided this program. Seven member volunteers contributed 530 hours in support of this program.

BEXAR HUGS PROGRAMSAlamo Bears provides stuffed bears to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office to distribute to children who are in need of comfort due to family issues. In 2024-2025, 264 children were impacted by this program. The budget for the bears was $2,500 and we spent $2,575.Alamo Totes provides duffel bags filled with personal care items and toys to children in the ChildSafe, SAMMinistries shelters, and Haven For Hope. In 2024-2025, 310 children and their families were impacted by this program. The budget for the program was $1,325 but we spent $920 which covers the shipping costs from "My Stuff Bags."These programs are funded by annual fundraisers, donations, grants, and bequests from members and friends.
