Assistance League of Whittier transforming the lives of children and adults through community programs.

Other programs include: Scholarships provide financial assistance to qualifying Whittier Union High School District (WUHSD) seniors who will attend college in the fall.Summer Reading Program provides financial assistance for incentives and activities at the City of Whittier Public Libraries encouraging Whittier children to read throughout their summer vacation. A celebration is held at a local park to acknowledge their achievements. Wee Wardrobe provides layettes for newborns at our local hospitals to be distributed to mothers and foster babies without basic essentials.Operation Holiday provides individual Christmas presents and grocery cards to families chosen by the Salvation Army. Action Week is literature based and encourages literacy in the Community. Members participate in Read Across America by reading in elementary classrooms.
Dental Care provides dental services to families without dental insurance, in the Whittier area, who are identified by their schools as requiring dental care. Families pay a $10.00 co-pay to the Chapter, which reimburses local dentists, at a significantly reduced rate, for their services.
