The AEU bargaining committee is responsible for representing the interests of the membership in the matters related to negotiations on all subjects within the scope of bargaining to the national labor relations act. These efforts include, but are not limited to, pre-negotiations efforts, crafting proposals, calling for meeting of the membership to ratify proposals and settlements, bargaining with the employer, and other matters related to collective bargaining.

At times, AEU must seek legal and other professional consultation to advocate for fairness in enforcing its agreements. These services generally involve matters which promote the general good and welfare of members and may involve arbitrations, grievances, or other contract.Enforcement efforts, opinions, and /or professional services concerning unfair labor practices on the part of the employer.
