Mission
The association for independent science (the "association") is a non-profit organization that provides pro bono legal representation to members of the scientific community. The mission of the association is to promote freedom of scientific inquiry by supplying legal counsel to scientists regarding matters relevant to scientific research, publication and expression of ideas. The work of the association is important because it will protect scientists whose research is threatened by litigation, enabling such scientists to continue research, the results of which may benefit society as a whole.
