Mission
This corporation is organized and shall be operated exclusively for the following charitable and education purposes: - to promote and serve minnesotans in their quest for clean, healthy air, free of tobacco smoke; - to offer support to nonsmokers and nonsmokers' rights organizations in other states of the united states of america and in foreign countries; - to prevent young people from starting to use tobacco; - and more generally, to combat the health, environmental and economic problems resulting from tobacco use.
Programs
3 programs
Technical assistance and training: ansr staff provides training and guidance about tobacco control and public policy to grantees of the mn department of health, blue cross and blue shield of minnesota, and clearway minnesota. Training is through one-on-one, group and electronic meetings.
Point of sale project (pos): works to reduce the harm done by tobacco use in the metro area through education, media, and policy advocacy. We are working to reduce youth access to tobacco products and tobacco industry influences. Pos focuses on enforcing and strengthening local tobacco ordinances in the point-of-sale environment.
All other programs are designed to combat the health, environmental and economic problems resulting from tobacco smoking.
