Mission
Iowa ascd is the source for developing instructional leadership and translating research into daily practices in our schools and classrooms. Activities include the following: creating a bi-monthly newsletter to members and other educational partners(except for july); provide professonal development and networking opportunities, both regionally and state-wide focused on mental health for teachers and students; effectively leading initiatives focused on curriculum, instruction, and assessment; and creating and leading a positive learning environment focused on meeting the needs of all learners.

Life space crisis intervention - designed to build the capacity of counselors, teachers, interventionists, and administrators to create a safe and secure learning enviorment for staff and students who may become dysregulated due to trauma or home/social influences.
Teach to heal - training delivered to school leadership teams to begin their journey and awareness of how to create a system designed to support the mental health and emotional stability for all stakeholders in their buildings (learners, support staff, teachers, counselors, and more).
