Mission
The association encourages and sponsors adoption of uniform and effective fertilizer inspection techniques by all member agencies, throughout the united states, canada, and puerto rico. This includes encourages and sponsoring the most effective and adequate sampling and inspection techniques, and enforcement practices, while promoting safe and effective use of fertilizers and protection of soil and water resources.

The organization publishes an official publication, containing current standards, annual reports, uniform policy statements and official terms for its membership, state fertilizer control officials, industry, colleges, extension personnel and public libraries. An inspection manual and inspection video is also published/produced, for use by fertilizer inspectors.
A website is maintained for members, industry and others.
The organization maintains a check sample program for labs worldwide to compare their analysis results with other labs for accuracy.
