Mission
To support and promote u.s. Jesuit higher education by facilitating cooperative efforts among, and providing services to, its member institutions; providing a forum for the exchange of experience and information; and representing the work of jesuit higher education at the national and international levels.
Programs
7 programs
Leadership institute - jesuit leadership development seminar participants are introduced to the foundations of jesuit education and actively engage in discussions with peers from around the country on how the jesuit educational tradition may be applied in the everyday work of university decision-making.
Mission identity - mission identity services assist member institutions with programs and tools to enhance their jesuit mission identity. Services also include consultations, conferences and retreats.
Government relations - the organization's federal registered lobbyist represents the twenty-seven member institutions located in the u.s. Collectively before congress and the administration on higher education policies related to appropriations and budget, higher education authorization, and tax issues. An annual conference is held for member institution representatives to discuss critical higher education issues throughout the year. Information sharing concerning the evolution of national higher education issues for the twenty-seven u.s. Institutions is a high priority.
Member services - the office of member services at the association of jesuit colleges and universities (ajcu) provides information to its members through newsletters, social media and listservs; promotes the mission of jesuit higher education through national programs including the #jesuiteducated campaign and jesuit basketball spotlight; generates national exposure through press releases and quotes to the media; and fosters community among jesuit alumni through service and social events.
