The Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses, Inc. (the "Association") is a nonprofit corporation that promotes optimal nursing care for children and their families by advancing knowledge in pediatric hematology and oncology through education, research and clinical practice. The Association publishes a scientific journal and holds educational meetings and workshops to carry out its mission. The association develops and publishes family patient resources that are available free to the public. The association has over 50 local affiliated chapters throughout the United States and Canada that participate in various community and educational activities throughout the year to promote the association's purpose and vision.

The Journal of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses ("JPHON") is the official journal of APHON. JPHON provides original, peer-reviewed research intended to advance clinical nursing care of children and adolescents with cancer and blood disorders and their families. JPHON publishes approximately 30 peer-reviewed scholarly articles for each year. JPHON also is mailed to over 3,000 hematology/oncology individuals as well as institutional subscribers. Full text JPHON articles are downloaded each year from across the world by nurses and other healthcare professionals.

APHON has approximately 3,700 members who are pediatric/oncology nurses. Membership fees directly tie into access to education and information sharing opportunities. Members also have opportunities to receive scientific research grants, awards, and various APHON products and publications.
