Apdu is a national association where users, producers, and disseminators of public statistical data convene to share knowledge and build relationships.

Conference program: serves data users and data producers to examine how federal statistics, administrative data and a growing world of private data are converging to redirect how public data will be defined, collected, and used for years to come.

Membership: apdu is the national network for public data producers, disseminators, and users. The association offers professional development to members and provides a mechanism to network and advocate on behalf of public data users. The apdu membership consists of government agencies, universities and academic institutions, state and local governments, corporate and media organizations, nonprofits, startups, and individual advocates. While the annual conference and parts of this website are open to the public, members have access to additional resources, restricted website areas, and discounts on products.

Expenses: $56K

Educational and training webinars: starting in 2014, apdu began presenting a robust training schedule of webinars, known as public data university. The public data university webinar series develops the skills of a new generation of data users and inform current and future data users about innovations occurring in the federal statistical system. Webinars are free to apdu members, fee-based for nonmembers. Broadcasts usually last 60 minutes and recordings are archived in the member area.tools and resources: in conjunction with trainings, the annual conference, advocacy work, and external partners, apdu develops special publications and resources meant to further the development of the public data professional and the work of the industry.
